Well is a meditation on the cogent, ineffable properties of water.

Inside a completely darkened space, hovers a large slowly spinning propeller bathed in projected images. Once submerged in the space, the viewer may become aware of sounds that are vaguely familiar yet oddly, claustrophobically remote. Within the slow churning of tidal forces, a well of mourning, a veil of tears, the steadfast presence of a ship passes through this resonant channel: a place not really seen or heard, but deeply felt.

Clark Wiegman has been a professional multimedia artist for the past 25 years. He has exhibited and installed work throughout the US, in Europe and Japan. Projects include civic planning, plaza and transit center design, earthworks, fountains, landmarks, soundworks and illuminations.

Perri Lynch received her MFA in printmaking from Cranbrook Academy of Art. Her work has been exhibited at the Jack Straw New Media Gallery, Consolidated Works, Northwest Film Forum, and Kirkland Arts Center. In addition to her studio practice, Perri performs with the Seattle Phonographer's Union and is an emerging public artist. Through combined techniques in sound, light, sculpture, and image, Perri explores many attributes of a place simultaneously. Her latest series focuses on cognitive mapping, survey, and the human need to explore.

SOUNDHOUSE STUDIO is the collaborative partnership of Clark Wiegman and Perri Lynch. Their sculptures, installations, and permanently sited public works explore the relationship between human perception and sense of place.
